But to be fair, there were a few Diggers who had the right attitude:

Why do you give a f*ck? Seriously? If that's how they want to raise their kids, what business is it of yours? It's obviously not a sexual thing, but because in western culture we supposedly have this "norm" about how you;re supposed to do things, and anyone who chooses to do things differently is ridiculed...which, realy, if you think about shows how closed minded and threatened people are when someone chooses a diferent lifestyle than the societal norm. An argument can be made that the kids will have a hard time in society or will grow up weird; but unless they go around talking about sucking titties at age 8 to their friends at school I don't really see this being an issue - they seem like pretty bright little piggies to me.

It happens that I was breast-fed for almost five years. Some of it may be due to the fact that we were living in Germany at that time and breast milk was much easier to get. Except for minor accidents I am quite healthy although I did start smoking when I was 9 years old and didn't stop until I was 32 back in 1977.

I think there is too much pressure on women not to breast-feed or to cut it off much too early. It is the same syndrome that states that kids should not have binkies at all or that they should have them taken away at age one or two. Read Let your kids have the Pacifier.

I believe that the recent stories we have read about mothers throwing their children out of their car or leaving them to cook inside of parked cars is precisely because these mothers have no connection or bond with their children. Let's focus on the mothers who burn, scald, mutilate, drown, or shake their children to death and hold off judging women who lavish their love and attention on them. I do not believe you can spoil a child by loving it too much. I believe that a child becomes spoiled when you give it things instead of affection and kissing and hugging. There is nothing wrong with giving both presents and love, but make sure you always give love.
