I do not excuse Jewish terrorism but I do want to put things in perspective: more people die from bee stings each year than have died at the hands of Jewish terrorists in the past 50 years.

I consider myself a cultural Jew. Although I am not a member of the Society for Humanistic Judaism, I identify with many of their principles. Some may call me a secular Jew although I do not identify myself with the majority of secular Jews in America.

As you may already know, Rick Sanchez has been fired from CNN for speaking the truth. Sanchez called "The Daily Show's" Jon Stewart a bigot while appearing on the " Stand Up! with Pete Dominick" SiriusXM radio show Friday morning and also said CNN was "run by Jews."

So for some Jews there is a sort of Heaven. But strictly speaking, the Torah tells us that physical death is the end of life. Later books in the Old Testament like Job (3:11-19) have a very dark view of the afterlife where all souls, both the righteous and the unrighteous alike, go down to the abode of the dead (in Hebrew: Sheol); a view lifted entirely from the Sumerian concept of the "underworld." I should mention that in contrast to Christian and later Jewish ideas of "Hell" there is no notion of punishment or reward in Sheol.

Last year the rules changed for basketball teams in Israel's Basketball Super League (the top division of Israeli basketball). The league administrators mandated that all teams must host cheerleaders or face fines. Not a problem for team Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv.

One could argue that because the Jews were dispersed throughout the world, they came in contact with many cultures and were thus able to take the best ideas of each nation and use them to their advantage.

Notwithstanding the general Japanese lack of knowledge of Jewish traditions, those who do become acquainted with Jewish culture find that they share many common values, especially regarding honor and family. This helps explain the popularity of Fiddler on the Roof in Japan.

Jewish Law only applies to Jews. Actions that would be violations if committed by Jews do not affect gentiles. For example, many religious Jews hire a Shabbat goy to perform certain acts on the Sabbath which are forbidden to Jews within Jewish law. A religious Jew using a full body scanner may violate Jewish law, a goy doing it certainly does not.

I was 11 years old (November 18, 1956) when Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev threatened the US with "We will bury you!" I remember my father laughing at the absurdity by saying, "I've lived in Russia - they don't have enough shovels."

Back in 1492, Queen Isabella of Spain convinced herself that the Apocalypse was at hand, in advance of which required the mass conversion of the Jews. Hoping they would stay, she gave Spain's Jews six months to either convert or leave. Although many chose to convert, a large number left; the majority expelled settled in Turkey, to the great benefit of the Ottoman Empire and the detriment of Spain.

A Jewish settler has been charged in Israel with murdering two Palestinians and attacking left-wing Israeli, gay and messianic Jewish targets.
This is of course newsworthy because of its rarity: Jews are among the smallest number of violent criminals all over the world.

Muslims would like infidels to accept two mutually exclusive notions: one, that Islam is a sister religion to Christianity and Judaism because the Quran is based on the Torah and the Gospels; and two, that the Torah and the Gospels that exist today are corruptions of the original holy texts.

Most of us say things without knowing where the expressions come from or their significance. For example, without knowing the origin of "he's not worth his salt," we know exactly what is meant.

In the New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago areas you can ask the waiter what kind of soda they carry but in the South it's "coke" while most of the northern states the usual term is "pop" or "soda pop".

Actually I'm not asking. I know the answer, or I should say, I know the answers. One answer, the simple one of course, is that there are a little over 13.2 million Jews in the world or roughly (and ironically) 6 million less than there were in 1939.

In response to my article The Mary Jo Kopechne Memorial Bridge, reader Layla asked this question in a comment: "... how does a Jew call him or herself a Jew when they do not believe in God? Being Jewish is of faith - not national origin."

There is no shortage of Jew-hating websites that like to spread lies about Jews by quoting famous people making anti-Semitic remarks. One such hoax is the lie that Benjamin Franklin Warned Against the Jews.

The Soviet Union has certainly encouraged scientific learning during the last century yet has garnered only 16 Nobel Science Prizes. I have omitted Nobel Peace Prize winners from the following lists since they have contributed practically nothing of value to modern civilization.

On Election day this coming Tuesday there will be a historic first for this great nation of ours no matter who gets elected: we will either have our first female Vice-President or our first black President.

Whenever I post about some Muslim atrocity in the world there will inevitably be a comment or email asking me not to condemn an entire religion because of the actions of a few. I happen to agree with this absolutely. It is the height of bigotry to heap scorn on Islam simply because a few misguided extremists misinterpret the love and tolerance that is in the Quran.

Jews did not attack German citizens, did not plot to create a world Rabbinate, and could not care less if anyone converted to Judaism. In fact if you go to a Rabbi today and say you want to be a Jew, most likely you'll get talked out of it:

In the 40s and 50s we denied habeas corpus to unlawful combatants and nonresident aliens captured and imprisoned abroad - We survived those curtailments of our freedoms didn't we?

The phrase "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" is often used by lazy minds to make moral equivalencies where none exist. You might as well say, "One man's beef is another man's chicken."

the contract made between you and Abraham is up for renewal, and this memorandum is to advise you that after, yea, those many millennia of consideration, we've decided not to renew.
