When I first read reports of the explosions in Oslo I wrongly assumed it was the work of Muslims (as did others, see photo). It did not help that this assumption was also made by Muslims themselves.

fogel family slaughtered by Palestinians

Some of my readers may have read on other blogs about the brutal murder of the Fogel family last Friday in the town of Itamar, north of Jerusalem, by two Arab terrorists. The Palestinians slayed the family in their house while they were sleeping: Rabbi Udi Fogel (36), his wife Ruth (34), 11-year-old Yoav, four-year-old Elad and three-month-old Hadas.

The Jews have been making changes to their laws from the time Moses first revealed the Ten Commandments at Sinai. Many of the changes occurred when the Jews returned from exile in Babylon and built the Second Temple. It was at the end of this period that the Rabbis found that the death penalty was too draconian a punishment for civilized peoples. They put in place so many restrictions on Capital Punishment that it effectively became abolished. Occam's razor is a principle put forth by 14th-century English logician, theologian and Franciscan friar William of Ockham that the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

Likewise when terms like recession, depression and recovery are explained with esoteric economic terms and convoluted mathematical equations, it is highly likely that no one will come away with a clear understanding of what is what.

That is, completely obliterate them.

Patriotism: I believe that jingoism in any other country except the USA is evil; while extreme pride in America is the only right moral sentiment in the world. We are the best country in the world, with the best political system, the best economic system, and the best culture. No matter what resentment everyone else may feel toward us, in the end the world will be wearing our jeans, watching our movies, reading our books, eating our burgers, and eventually, speaking our language. I should be proud to be an American when everyone in the world goes to sleep at night wishing they would wake up in America.
